  • The message of Christmas - 4 December 2009

    Email This Post

In the next few weeks we’ll be distributing some flyers in our local area. Here’s a snippet of what they look like, and what they say.

    We are never alone

‘If God is there, why doesn’t he reveal himself?’

People often ask this question. It’s easy to see why. After all, as we look around the world there sometimes seems to be little sign of God. Maybe God is hiding. Or maybe he just doesn’t care.

But Christmas tells a different story. The message of Christmas is that God has revealed himself by coming into the world as a man, Jesus Christ.

Jesus taught some uncomfortable things. He said that the chaos around us is the result of how we have lived – the way we treat each other, and the way we treat God.

Yet Jesus also brought good news. He came to sort out the mess we have made of our lives. As he himself said, he came ‘not to condemn the world, but to save the world’ (John 3:17).

God does care. And he is not hiding.
