Lots of hefty dollops - 22 July 2009
We like a good sprinkling of Scripture in our services at Emmanuel. Actually, we like it like 10-year-olds like ketchup on chips – lots of big hefty dollops all over the place. Apart from the readings, we generally include brief extracts at several other points, including the Introduction / Call to worship; the Confession; the Assurance of Forgiveness; and the Conclusion.
Yeah, pure self-indulgence. But you can never have too much Bible.
Anyway, for what it’s worth (and since a few people have asked about different bits of Bible for different bits of a Sunday service), here’s what we’ve had in the last few months:
