Book of the Month

Book of the Month - August 2022

August's book is a guide to the Eastern Orthodox teadition: A Christian’s Pocket Guide to Eastern Orthodox Theology: An Evangelical Perspective (Pocket Guides)  by Panagioti Kantartzis .
From the cover: "We may associate a number of images with the Eastern Orthodox church - ornate church buildings, services with candles and incense, men wearing embellished robes - but what does the Eastern Orthodox church actually believe? What are the similarities and differences between them and western evangelical churches? What is their history? In this short book Panagiotis Kantartzis introduces us to Eastern Orthodoxy from an Evangelical perspective and tells us what we need to know."

The Church-Friendly Family by Randy Booth and Rich Lusk. This is a great book to help us grow spiritually healthy, outward focused, serving families. Chapters cover topics such as: family culture, family worship, the table, marriage and the blessings of family life.

It's available on kindle (£3) and in paperback (£8).

What a superb argument: the world we live in, with its values of Freedom, Kindness, Progress and Equality are so rooted and grounded in the Christian message and the deep impact of that truth on our culture, that they only truly make sense in their original setting: the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Read this book to be able to engage with people in a fresh and vibrant way, without compromise, but with true compassion and proper understanding. Only a post-Christian people could even recognise Freedom, Kindness, Progress and Equality as goods, let alone desire them.
